Innocence Lost

Thoughts that kill, words that burn
anger, seething, crimson red
destruction of innocence, taking of life
forever hurting, pain and strife
tainted memories, childhood lost
begging, pleading, silence at cost
soul exploding, can't break free

agony, insanity, no hope for peace
praying daily, let it all stop
needing strength, God, let me be!
Fire grows brighter, deep within,
tell the story, release from sin
feelings of guilt, sorrow, remorse
hopes that someday, love will feel real
not sure where to turn, or who to trust
wondering if anyone, wants more than lust
tomorrow is brighter, I hold on 'til then
one day the nightmares, God willing, will end.
